ALFREDO DEL MAZO: "We are working so that all the families of Edomex have a dignified home"
The governor of the State of Mexico delivered the keys to the homes built as part of the "Housing in my Land" program
ECATEPEC, Edomex. The Governor of the State of Mexico, Alfredo del Mazo Maza, delivered the keys to the homes built as part of the "Housing in my Land" program, in the municipality of Ecatepec, where he reported that to date the government of the State has delivered 95 thousand 801 homes throughout the entity.
Before families from different municipalities of the State of Mexico, the head of the state executive explained that the homes delivered as part of this scheme have an investment of 250 million pesos and will directly benefit 486 people.
He pointed out that the "Housing in my Land" program provides support to vulnerable families in the entity, accompanied by an integral portfolio of benefits such as a bedroom module, a toilet, a kitchen, a water heater, a rainwater collection tank and a solar cell.
Del Mazo Maza stressed that this scheme promotes community work and the participation of beneficiary families, who are responsible for building their homes under a technical and legal accompaniment scheme, and who receive permanent support for the purchase of materials, training and technical advice.
“With this program we continue to work to make it a reality that all the families of the State of Mexico have a dignified home to live in,” said the state governor.
During the event, the assistant general director of Operation of the State Commission for Public Housing (CEVIVI), Carlos Martínez, explained that this program involves selfconstruction work, where the beneficiary families are organized to mix materials and build their homes.
“The families receive financial support from CEVIVI to purchase the materials that are gradually delivered to the construction site, and there is constant monitoring by technical advisors, social workers and architects to guide the selfconstruction process,” he said.
He added that the "Housing in my Land" program is the only one of its kind in the country, which benefits people living in ejidos, towns and localities with a high or very high level of marginalization, where there are no formal urban services, land is available for construction and has little or no access to housing financing.
At the event, the mayor of Ecatepec, Fernando Vilchis Contreras, expressed his appreciation to the governor Alfredo del Mazo for all the support he has given to the municipality and particularly for the delivery of the "Housing in my Land" homes.
He highlighted the government's efforts to reduce the housing deficit in the entity and acknowledged the work and commitment of the beneficiary families who today see their dream of having a home come true.
