The district is home to the Jiangxi Provincial Art Museum, the Jiangxi Provincial Museum, and the Pavilion of Prince Teng. It is also a major transportation hub, with the Nanchang Changbei International Airport and the Nanchang Railway Station located within its boundaries.
The district is undergoing rapid development, with a number of new residential and commercial projects being built. The district is also home to a number of universities and colleges, including the Jiangxi Normal University, the Nanchang University, and the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology.
